What A Great Summer!
All five of our camps saw action this summer. Bob, Gardom, Pines, and Stillwood were blessed to be able to run what we would call a typical summer. Bob and Gardom were close to pre-pandemic numbers as far as campers and staff. Both Pines and Stillwood found themselves a little short of staff, but God provided the staff we needed and once again the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ was shared clearly this summer! We were unable to pull in enough staff for Likely to run a typical summer program, however, we were still able to bless a few groups with family camps.
All told we had just under 5,000 campers join us this summer. The majority would be our own campers, but this number includes ministry to our family camps as well. Several churches were able to have their family camps at our camps, and we also continue to minister to campers renting our facilities on weekends.
I had the privilege of visiting four of our five camps in “Harvey the RV” (along with my dog Finn) and was super encouraged by what I saw. Campers were once again running around camp having a ton of fun. Water fights, skit nights, and learning skills at activities were just the beginning of their best week of summer. Chapels and campfires were full of singing, stories, and hearing the Gospel clearly presented. It is truly a great joy to be part of an organization that sees so many children’s and youth’s lives transformed every year.
Thanks for your continued support.
