Building Something That Lasts

Camp season comes and goes, but the work behind it never really stops. Every summer’s worth of laughter and quiet moments by the lake rests on a foundation that most campers never see: the insurance policies, the board meetings, the leadership training that happens long before a single tent gets pitched. The Endowment Fund exists to carry that foundation, so our five camps can keep doing what they do best for years to come.

Why We Started an Endowment

For a long time, camp ministry has leaned on the generosity of people showing up each year through gifts and events like #Ridin4Camps. That generosity has carried us this far, and we’re grateful for it. But relying on annual fundraising alone means every year starts from zero again. The Endowment Fund is our attempt to build something steadier underneath all of that; a source of support that grows over time instead of resetting each January.

How It Works

Gifts to the Endowment Fund aren’t spent right away. Instead, they’re invested, and it’s the income from that investment, not the gift itself, that goes toward supporting our camps. The original gift stays protected and keeps growing, which means the fund can provide a little more help each year without ever running dry. Over time, as the Endowment grows, it will take on a bigger share of the costs that keep our camps running long after the season ends.

What Your Gift Supports

None of this is the flashy part of camp. You won’t see a plaque for it at the dining hall or hear about it around the campfire. But it’s what makes the campfire possible in the first place. The Endowment Fund helps provide campership aid so more kids can experience camp, bursaries for summer staff, and support for the quiet, essential costs of running five camps well. Together, these investments strengthen camp ministry for years to come.

How to Give

You can give directly to BCMB Camps and ask that your gift be designated to the Endowment Fund, or you can give through Canada Gives. Either route gets your gift to the same place. The only real difference is which organization issues your charitable tax receipt. However you choose to give, you’re planting something that will still be growing long after this summer’s campers have gone home.

A Legacy
That Lasts

A legacy gift is an opportunity to invest in camp ministry beyond your lifetime. By including BCMB Camps in your will or estate plans, you can help strengthen Christian camping and ensure that future generations of children and youth continue to experience the life-changing ministry of camp.

Let’s Talk When You’re Ready

Legacy giving is a personal decision, and there is no obligation. If you would like to learn more or simply begin a conversation about leaving a legacy gift to BCMB Camps, please contact Bob Kroeker, Executive Director.

Help Send a Kid to Camp

A kid you’ll never meet might remember this summer for the rest of their life, and your gift is part of why.
